As Promised...One More Texas Post
I was invited to Girls Night Out, even though OBVIOUSLY I am not a GIRL! When you are stuck in purse, you go where you are toted.
The evening began with S'Mores at Halcyon. What a fun place! One of the guests said, "I feel like I am in a foreign film and expect to see subtitles pop up at any mintute."
My fear of fire kept me from being in the picture. We followed S'Mores up with a trip to the Irish pub (Fado') next door. I was forced to drink copious amounts of Guinness.
All in all, it has been a great time here in Texas. I can't wait to see where I go next!

So Much to Do...So Little Time
Well, my time here is drawing to a close. So much has happened since I last posted.
First I went to a trunk or treat event at the church. The family had fun decorating the truck. I even got in on the action.
We decorated it honor of Gary's brother who is serving in Iraq. He is a big Oklahoma State Cowboys fan. Considering Gary is an OU guy, that took a lot of compromise. But Gary would do just about anything for his little brother.
On Monday, Gary took me golfing. It wasn't just any old golf outing either. It was a tournament to raise money for the Hope Pregnancy Center - a place where Annemarie's father spent countless hours volunteering to counsel men and women about crisis pregnancies and parenting.
Gary played 100 holes for the fundraiser and carried me along. Having never golfed, I wasn't much good in the advice area, but I enjoyed the view while I was there.
This will not be my last post from Texas, however. Today is Annemarie's birthday and her friends are taking her for a Girls Night Out on Saturday. They said I could come along even though I am a boy. I will share with you on Sunday, provided my host can wake up and turn on the computer for me.

Fun at the Pumpkin Farm
Today I was taken on a little road trip.
Sweet Berry Farm was having their Harvest of Fall Fun.
The family made their way through a maze of maize in the shape of Texas. After finding the location of eleven stations throughout the maze and getting their cards punched, they were rewarded with sodas.
The day ended with photos in the pumpkin patches.
It was definitely a good day.

Hello from Texas
After a short trip in some mighty tight quarters, I arrive at my next hostess's house no worse for wear. When I heard I was going to Texas, I conjured up visions of old "Cowboy & Indian" movies from the wild west. Little did I know that I would be staying with a school teacher whose students were finishing up a unit on Native Americans of Texas.
Here I am getting to know a few Lipan Apache horses.
Hey, look at me! I am finally taller that someone else. :-)
As I get to know Mrs. Victory and her students more, I will share what I learned while attending fourth grade.

...and the natives
are getting restless. I think it's time I pack it up.
I heard the sharpening of nails.....
Someone licking his chops.....
And I don't think this one was showing me his cavities......
PS..Amy all the times my hostess tried to take pictures in the District it either rained or the pictures just came out awful. Maybe I can make a return trip!
So please be on the look out for my next adventure.

Yucky
The weather has been bad--so no real good to check out the local sites.
Here's just a snip of Twinks outing today.
We rode into work on the Virginia Railway Express. We were a little disappointed since we all thought that "express" meant fast--HA! It was a 2 hour evolution--the time dragged-- we were almost late for work!
Here he is at my building
Heading off to met the hubs at the corner subway- He came to meet us for lunch and for a little house hunting.
Having an outdoor lunch (funny Wienie picture) and.....
Listening to a band in the courtyard. Life is good.
Video to come shortly!!! Look out.
So you have to check this out- This we can NOT afford--but we all enjoyed looking at it any (I like looking at model homes for decorating ideas and to dream I guess) Maybe Twinkle's mom has deep pockets..huh?
This condo is just across from my work- This place is $946,000.00 for a mere
1,400 sq. ft--yikes, garage not included, but for another $40,000 they'll toss one in however, also with an additional $60 per month garage maintenance fee!!!! As if..........
If we had deep pockets I could not pass up that view.
God Bless America!

Dear Amy
It's me Twinks...
My precious, I'm afraid I have bad news for you

Football, Food and Friends--it's male bonding time. That's what's on tap tonight, which is just perfect for me, since that trip from Washington state to Washington DC was quite taxing on my little soul. Can you believe this? It's amazing how I already have an "in" with the man of the house.
I'm sorry to say I think I might have to stay here a little longer---
Don't cry for me...
I arrived safely as Callista packed me for travel well. I can't wait to tell you all about Cinnibonbon and the other 3 men in her life--too bad they are the furry, four-legged variety--but we'll see, I think I'll have an "in" with them too!!
Ciao Bella

The Rainy Adventures of Twinkle
The weather turned nasty rainy here last week and poor little Twinkle was right in the midst of it! Friday night he stowed away in my bag to the Chris Isaak concert at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, but he opted to stay in my bag out of the rain. He said Chris was a great entertainer even if he couldn't see him.
Saturday was a nice day. We headed to Whidbey Island and Twinkle enjoyed the ferry ride and the wind blowing him around.
We sat out on the deck all day Saturday, but the resident cat didn't like Twinkle, so he kept a low profile.
Sunday, it rained buckets! Once again Twinkle opted to stay in my bag as we ran from shop to shop in Langley. He came out later and was doing espresso shots in the local coffee shop, but was in no condition to have his picture taken. But the locals, loved him, it was standing room only in the place as he made a spectacle of himself.
We came home early due to the rain and Twinkle thought it would be great to get some postcards to take pictures in front of because the weather was so bad.
Here's Twinkle taking one last look at the view from my office. Finally the weather is changing and Twinkle is leaving for his next stop!
Looks like the pics are too big for the page, so you can click on the pic to see the entire thing. Sorry Twinkle, getting cut out of your own pics!

Rainy Season?!?
You would think it was the rainy season here in Washington. Poor Twinkle. He got soaked at the beach and a bit grouchy. He is ready to move on to (hopefully) sunnier weather.
I will post pics tomorrow from over the weekend.

A Letter Home
Dear Amy,
I just wanted you to know how crazy the weather is here in Washington! Yesterday started off foggy and then was nice and sunny the remainder of the day! I got up early so I could tag along to Seattle where Callista works, but since I didn't have bus fare, she made me stowaway in her computer bag. Hmmppff... such treatment! I got a few peeks of the city on the way in and because Callista was busy with work, I enjoyed the view of Elliot Bay from her office. At lunch time I escaped the office in her pocket. We visited the post office to ship off a project and then we shopped for postcards before we headed to Subway for lunch. Callista was in meetings all afternoon, so I went back to enjoying the view. It's great fun to watch the ferry boats and daydream about being on them. After another bus ride home where I was again stuffed into her computer bag, I decided to spend the evening with Moose rather than head out to do errands with Callista. Today, I opted to stay home with Moose. I heard it was going to rain and I didn't want to get up at 5AM with her again! Thankfully Moose knew all Callista's passwords to get on the home computer. Sorry no pics from yesterday, but I hear we are going to a beach house this weekend! I think I will rest up for it!
Much love,
Mr. Twinkle

Surprise Guest
Poor Twinkle arrived in Washington while I was out for the day and had to wait on the front porch... I don't think he minded too much, he seemed to have kept himself entertained and ate all my red cherry tomatoes!
Checking out the reflection pool:
Finished eating all the ripe tomatoes:
Taking a nap in the chair:
Once I got home, I invited Twinkle inside and the first thing he did was meet Moose
Here's Moose checking Twinkle out:
Moose isn't too sure about this:
Aww... they made friends:
Twinkle wanted to visit my craft area since he heard it was soo clean, but instead found it like this:
Twinkle is turning in early tonight for his BIG day in Seattle tomorrow as he goes to work with me:

My scrappy day!
Today we had some errands to run and because Kelli has been under the weather for a couple days, we tried to get it all done at once. Kelli's mom came with us. We went to the scrapbook store and I hung out with my gnomies, they weren't every talkative but it was nice to see my own kind so far from home.
Later we helped Kelli's friend make her wedding favours. I helped curl edges of flowers, we made 60 sets of flowers, my fingers are a bit sore. We didn't get to the waterslide last weekend and are going tomorrow, regardless of weather. After that I'm headed out to my next destination. It's been great here, at first the smoke was annoying but the fire is out, just a few hot spots that need tending. I'm looking forward to my trip!

Friday's update
Thursday meant a trip to the scrapbook store in West Kelowna. Kelli bought a few Disney stamps sets, a Creating Keepsakes magazine and some Basic Grey June Bug paper. It's like being at home with Amy! We went to the Orchard Park mall, and checked out Chapters. I didn't see anything I wanted, they didn't have that new book, Hangin' With My Gnomies - My Life in a Gnome Gang. I guess I'll have to look for it in my other travels.
It finally rained in Kelowna, hopefully that puts out the forest fire that has been making the air so smokey. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm and sunny so we will plan some outings. We're supposed to go to the waterslides if it's sunny and warm on Sunday. Cross your fingers! I forgot to pack my Speedo!

Greetings from Canada!
Well, I wasn't sure I would make it safe and sound. The trip to Canada was crowded and a bit noisy. Birthday Mickey was sharing the same shipping box and he must have been nervous about the trip because he sang Happy Birthday over and over again for the first few hundred kilometers. Then he fell asleep and me and Cinderella got some peace and quiet.
When I got to Kelli's house, Linus made sure the shipping box did not contain any drugs and maybe Mickey had a few puffs of something to relax because Linus and Sally thought he was pretty suspicious, he almost lost a leg. I posed with Mickey and the rest of the goodies in the box. It was Kelli's birthday on the weekend and Amy went all out and sent her all kinds of great things. That foam finger made the trip more comfy.

Weekend Fun
This weekend was the XGames Rally. In honor of the event, Subaru held a WRX Games of their own. Here I stand in front of Travis Pastrana's Rally Car
Waiting in line for the free car wash with Max
I thought this was some sort of carnival ride, since it spun, but I was informed it was for cleaning the cars. However it did shine my shoes nicely!
Trevor offered to give me a ride in this vehicle, but I saw his driving skills earlier in the day and I opted to just inspect the vehicle rather than ride in it.
